This facility, manufacturing gaskets, is located on flat land on the outskirts of Pune. A single level structure houses the raw material incoming, testing, despatch as well as scrap collection at the rear, while training and administrative areas are located in the front.
In order to deviate from a stereotype design, a courtyard was introduced, around which the administrative functions are arranged.

This combined with the curvilinear form breaks the formality of any industrial facility and creates visual interest. The presence of a garden in the centre of the built area provides unexpected peace and serenity to the otherwise stressed environment.

Large fenestrations, cantilevers and a raised parapet coping define the elevational treatment. A shell of concrete folded plate structure incorporating the north light spans the shop floor in a 18.0 m x 18.0 m. grid.

A tall brilliant white villa, the Astral farm has the air of a public building.
The scale, the bold lines and the solidity impart a strong sense of security, while the large fenestration and the resulting transparency spell ultra modernity and a pleasurable sense of proximity to nature.
The split level, partially open plan creates a feeling of spaciousness while the glazed openings and pergolas present an intriguing web of views and vistas augmented by the play of light and shade.
